• Diploma di Maturita' Classica conseguito presso l'Istituto "Francesco Vivona" di Roma.
• 1980-1981: ha frequentato il college St. Clare's Hall in Oxford, Inghilterra, dove ha conseguito il diploma in "Business Administration" ed il "First Certificate of English".
• 1982-1983: ha prestato servizio militare di leva presso "l'ottavo Gruppo Genio Campale" dell'Areonautica militare dell'areoporto di Ciampino, Roma.
• Laurea in Farmacia presso l'Universita' degli studi di Camerino, nell'anno accademico 1989/1990 con la votazione di 108/110.

CURRICULUM PROFESSIONALE

• Dal 1987 e' stato studente interno presso l'Istituto di Farmacologia dell'Universita' degli studi di Camerino, dove ha effettuato la tesi sperimentale di laurea.
• Dal 1987 al 1991 ha collaborato con il Prof. de Caro ed il Prof. Massi su studi relativi all'" ingestive behaviour" con particolare riguardo a ricerche riguardanti i meccanismi centrali coinvolti nell'assunzione di acqua, nell'appetito per il sodio e nell'assunzione di alcool. Ha, inoltre, effettuato studi sul sistema cardiovascolare di ratto con l'impiego di modelli di ratti anestetizzati e "freely moving".
• Dal 1989 al 1990 ha tenuto i corsi di Esercitazione pratiche di laboratorio di Farmacologia agli studenti del corso di Farmacia.
• Dal 1991 al 1994 ha lavorato presso il laboratorio di Neuroendocrinologia dell'Universita' Rockefeller di New York, USA, Dr. Bruce McEwen, nel campo della biologia molecolare con particolare riguardo all'applicazione delle metodologie di "ibridizzazione in situ" e "binding" recettoriali allo studio delle alterazioni dei livelli di RNA messaggero di peptidi cerebrali coinvolti nell'omeostasi dei fluidi corporei. 
• Dal 1993 al 1994 ha tenuto il corso di Human Anatomy and Physiology presso " Hostos Community College" di New York, USA, in qualita' di "Adjunct Assistant Professor".
• 1995: vincitore del concorso per Ricercatore, settore disciplinare EO7X, presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Farmacologiche e Medicina Sperimentale dell'Universita' degli studi di Camerino.
•  Da Luglio 1995 a Gennaio 1996 "Visiting Assistant Professor" presso il laboratorio di Neuroendocrinologia dell'Universita' Rockefeller di New York, USA.
